Finance Business Partner (EU & UK)

 

One of our clients is looking for a Senior Business Partner to move full-time to their office in Germany.

 

The Finance Business Partner for the EU and UK will work closely with the heads of regional business functions, including R&D centres, to establish performance metrics, conduct cost-to-serve analyses, and develop growth strategies.

 

What does the role involve?

 

Control Gap Analysis: Identify and assess control weaknesses, including compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, as well as operational, reputational, and financial risks.

 

Management Reporting: Prepare and disseminate comprehensive management information that includes both financial and non-financial KPIs, highlighting significant variances for the business.

 

Variance Analysis: Conduct monthly analyses of financial results, collaborating with functional leaders to ensure a clear understanding of the underlying drivers and associated risks, while managing selling and distribution expenses.

 

Cross-Functional Process Reviews: Lead extensive end-to-end process review sessions across functions to evaluate the current state and design the future state.

 

Risk and Control Assessments: Perform regular evaluations of risks and controls, pinpoint risks that require mitigation, and develop and implement action plans to address them.

 

Senior Management Reporting: Proactively report any identified deficiencies to senior management, proposing solutions and executing action plans.

 

Issue Monitoring: Maintain an inventory of ongoing issues and corrective action plans, promptly reporting and escalating matters that require management's attention.

 

Collaboration with Global Teams: Work alongside global and regional teams to ensure that future processes align with business objectives and effectively address challenges.

 

Compliance Culture: Promote a culture of compliance and integrity by actively engaging in the implementation, evaluation, and enhancement of internal controls, ensuring they align with regulatory standards and organizational goals.

 

What experience do you need?

 

  • A degree in Accountancy or a related field is required, along with over 8 years of relevant experience in business controlling or FP&A, particularly collaborating with commercial stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal English skills are essential for interacting with individuals across various levels of English proficiency and financial backgrounds.
  • Ability to speak Mandarin
  • Excellent engagement, influencing, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with effective communication skills across different functional teams.
  • A solid understanding of business operations and attention to detail.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A self-motivated individual with a strong desire for professional growth.
