Company Overview:
Our client is a leading player in the e-commerce and internet space, known for its rapid growth and innovation. As part of their commitment to maintaining high ethical and legal standards, they are seeking a Compliance Counsel to join their legal team. This role will ensure that the company adheres to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies across its global operations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and manage the company’s compliance programs to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide legal advice on a variety of compliance-related matters, including data privacy, anti-corruption, competition law, and consumer protection.
  • Conduct internal compliance audits, investigations, and training to promote awareness and ensure understanding of compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with business units to advise on compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Liaise with regulators and external counsel when necessary, ensuring all compliance reporting obligations are met.
  • Assist with drafting, reviewing, and updating internal policies and procedures to reflect regulatory changes and best practices.
  • Monitor developments in laws and regulations relevant to the e-commerce and internet industry.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum 5 PQE, with flexibility based on the candidate’s experience.
  • Prior experience in a similar in-house compliance role, particularly within the e-commerce or internet sector, will be highly regarded.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance issues related to data protection, anti-bribery, and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal and compliance concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working in a global or fast-paced, high-growth company is a plus.
