Job Description

A high-profile digital infrastructure MNC with a highly successful APAC business is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join its growing legal team. This role reports directly to the Head of Legal for Customer Contracts and plays a pivotal role in the company's continued success. The Senior Legal Counsel will focus on managing complex, high-value commercial contracts with hyperscalers (customers), particularly in the areas of colocation and data centre leases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the lead legal advisor on hyperscaler customer contracts, providing expert legal advice and strategic counsel on high-value, complex transactions.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize commercial contracts related to colocation and data centre leasing arrangements.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including business development, operations, and finance, to align legal agreements with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with the global legal team to ensure consistency in legal processes and contract management.
  • Identify, mitigate, and manage legal risks associated with customer contracts and data centre operations.
  • Support and advise senior leadership on critical business matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, external counsel, and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE), ideally with a focus on commercial contracts, data centre leasing, and colocation services.
  • Prior experience working with data centre service providers, developers, or hyperscalers is highly regarded.
  • Strong understanding of the digital infrastructure industry, including the unique challenges and opportunities in APAC.
  • Proven ability to manage complex negotiations and execute large-scale commercial agreements with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to align legal strategies with commercial objectives.
