My client, a world leader across FX payments is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to join their team.

 

This is a permanent role and you can be based anywhere in Canada. You have the option to be remote of hybrid (Dependant on your preference). This is paying a market leading salary plus OTE.

 

About the role:

Reporting to the Global Head of Law Firms, you will be responsible for approaching and liaising with business prospects across Canada on behalf of my client to attract new business.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as an individual contributor focused on closing new business while achieving set targets.
  • Build deep and meaningful relationships with law firms, with a focus on (but not limited to) Intellectual Property (IP) practices, Immigration, M&A, Taxation, and Litigation.
  • Demonstrate financial acumen with the ability to identify and address prospects' needs and pain points.
  • Utilize a deep understanding of consultative sales principles to negotiate at the executive corporate level and build long-term sustainable client relationships.
  • Proactively identify and approach new prospects to sell our payments offering across the Canadian market.
  • Network extensively to increase awareness of our value proposition while ensuring alignment across all business facets.
  • Develop and execute a sales portfolio strategy to consistently achieve new business targets year-over-year.
  • Manage an effective pipeline, identifying and prioritizing larger opportunities to support overall target achievement.
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment, collaborating and coordinating with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure a positive customer experience to enable early revenue delivery and achieve strong customer advocacy.

 

Requirements:

  • A successful sales track record, ideally from a financial services background with an understanding of the cross-border payments space.
  • Ambitious, self-motivated, and confident with high integrity and tenacity to outperform the competition.
  • Previous experience interacting with law firms, particularly within their accountancy or finance departments.
  • A self-driven individual with a strong desire to succeed.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to prospecting and a willingness to learn.
  • Extensive negotiation experience and strong commercial acumen.
  • Ability to prioritize initiatives and manage time effectively.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships and influence decision-making.
  • Experience in onboarding new customers and developing relationships.
  • Ability to communicate value propositions to C-suite executives.
  • Capacity to work within a target-driven environment, identifying opportunities, and closing deals through win-win outcomes.
  • Knowledge of international cross-border payments and foreign exchange products is an advantage but is not essential.
