Senior Sales Specialist – SAM & FinOps

We are seeking a dynamic SAM & FinOps Sales Specialist to join a leading organization in the Software Asset Management (SAM) and Financial Operations (FinOps) space. This role will involve collaborating with sales and technical teams to showcase the value of tailored solutions that meet specific customer needs. The ideal candidate will blend technical expertise with strong sales acumen, effectively communicating complex information to diverse audiences. Your main goal will be to enhance the customer experience and drive business growth through in-depth product knowledge, understanding client requirements, and fostering innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Expertise: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of SAM and FinOps services and tools, including strategies to engage customers and partners in purchasing decisions. Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to effectively position our offerings. Translate intricate technical details into accessible language for non-technical stakeholders, addressing customer pain points related to cost control, compliance, governance, and visibility.

Solution Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design holistic solutions that align with client objectives and business goals. Tailor offerings to customer requirements, presenting complex technical solutions across various technologies.

Technical Expertise: Respond to technical inquiries during sales presentations and follow-up discussions with senior technical stakeholders. Possess a deep understanding of tools that complement SAM and FinOps services, such as Flexera, Snow, Apptio, Cloud Health, and Spot by NetApp.

Documentation: Create compelling proposals, statements of work, presentations, and assist in the technical components of RFIs/RFPs.

Client Engagement: Identify and proactively engage with potential clients to understand their business challenges and objectives. Conduct thorough needs assessments to propose customized solutions that directly address specific pain points.

Value Proposition: Clearly articulate the unique value proposition of our solutions, highlighting how they can meet client needs and deliver measurable benefits.

Sales Presentations: Deliver impactful sales presentations, demonstrations, and proposals that showcase the features, benefits, and ROI of our solutions.

Sales Process Management: Oversee the sales process from opportunity qualification to deal closure in collaboration with the sales team. Utilize CRM tools to track and document customer interactions and progress.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills
 
  • Proven experience in selling SAM and FinOps solutions and related services, with a strong record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to establish credibility and confidence as a subject matter expert.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., IAITAM, FinOps Foundation) are preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a technical presales or consulting role.
  • Experience leading workshops with customers and partners.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with a passion for supporting team members.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and events as required.
